Im on the pill, Yasmin and have just had my 7 day break. I was meant to start taking my pill again on saturday but due to a lot of family distractions (my mum got rushed to hospital in a car crash) i didnt have any of my pill and had to go to the doctors this morning. It only crossed my mind this morning that i hadnt been taking it and my 7 days was up. Me and my bf had sex in the 7 day break and also on saturday and sunday when i should have been taking my pill. I have got a new prescription and taken a pill today but is there any risk of me being pregnant? Thanks

yes, there is a risk albeit perhaps a small one.

now that youve started taking it again you must use a condom for the next 7 days if you have sex. A test will not work this early on so if your period does not arrive at your next break or is lighter then take a test.

Perhaps itll be advisable to make sure you get your repeat prescriptions a few weeks before your breaks to ensure that this doesnt happen again.

I know! I normally do. its just im at uni away from home and had to rush back to see my mum in hospital and didnt even think about my pill so i had to go today and sign up as a temporary resident. I dont know about when a woman is most fertile or anything like that, am i at high risk? Thanks
most fertile is 12-14 days following period. Of course being on the pill is different to not being on the pill so these times will vary.
perhaps just to cover all bases you could ask for the morning after pill although the window for taking this is 72 hours max after unprotected sex i think so you will have to act fast
I thought your most fertile time was 12-14 days BEFORE your period not after it as ovulation does not generally occur until 14 days after you finish bleeding. The pill isn't your true period though, the bleeding you get from a pill is just withdrawl bleeding from the hormes you've been puttin into yourself, it's not your 'true' cycle. I am on the same pill (Yasmin) and from what i understand it inhibits the release of an egg. I think you are possibly at risk of becoming pregnant but not a high one. it'll depend how the pill cycle sits on your true cycle if that makes sense. Go see your GP again just to be on the safe side.

I'm totally parianoid about having an unwanted pregnancy so I'm on the pill and always use a condom, I would suggest this as the best course of action because then if you do forget a pill or be sick or something, you still don't have to worry.

Thanks for your answers, i guess i just have to wait and hope i come on my next period. Which is going to be a long wait as i have 3 weeks left taking my pill. Just try not to worry about it at the moment, hopefully should be ok tho, Thanks
