Do you think the read necks chasing the Top Gear crew in last Sunday's show was a put up job? It looked real enough!

It was the funniest thing ever I love top gear, dont think it was a fake
How can people be like that, especially about homosexuals, what prats
I'm not convinced the crew would have risked their presenters getting a beating from 'good ole boys' with a penchant for firearms. It may well be that Clarkson et al were kept in the dark, but I think the behind camera producers set the whole thing up.
That's hillbilly rednecks for you
Try and catch Dom Jolly's programme touring the deep south trying Moonshine. There was a scene straight out of Deliverance!
Of course it's a set up. Do you believe that Clarkson also ran over a cow and tied it to his roof?

What about last year's caravan trip that ended up with the caravan catching fire?

I stopped believing anything they did after one programme where they turned a Renault Espace into a convertable, which they took through a car wash in Bedford, which supposedly caught fire.

I the local paper at the weekend the Garage where the car wash was situated admitted that it never caught fire, and that the flames were added in the edit suite.

Still makes great TV though!!!!
If it was real then I think Hammond was closer to losing his life than when he had his crash :-)

I know what you mean BDW usually they are contrived. I think though with they made it look real quite well.
If you listen to the woman at the garage she isn't annoyed about the slogans on the side of the cars she's annoyed that Clarkson and co are obviously trying to get a reaction by making fun of local stereotypes.
Kind of ironic that it pi55es her off anyway.
If they have to resort to gimmicks like that,is it not time the whole thing was scrapped?
Yeah, it was kinda cr@p. Definitely a low point.

Jeremy Clarkson may be an arrogant, opinionated to55er and TopGear may no longer be about the cars we mere mortals drive but I don't care. It's fun, entertaining and defiantly un-PC which is ok in my book.
I was told there was going to be a train hitting a car at 70mph on a level crossing which was staged by Network Rail.....Inside info my ar$e!!!!

btw ....BDW, the cow wasn`t tied on
I don't care. I bl**dy love Top Gear. Its great entertainment. And I'm a girl (probably not the only one who loves TG).

Btw, BDW, Clarkson specifically said that he didn't actually hit the cow. He found it already dead.
I do think it was interesting that the cameras all turned off at the same point, (including the in car ones), and you never actually saw the stoning. You also never actually saw that truck load of rednecks even utter a word.

However, I think you could tell that the woman's anger was pretty real, and the fear of the presenters seemed real enough as well. I reckon they've made the incident look scarier than it actually was, but I'm not sure about it being a set up.

What it proves is another matter I suppose. If you bait thick and violent people, then I wouldn't be surprised if they react in a thick and violent way. Great TV though - one of my favourite episodes ever!
Had to be a set up of sorts but was pretty damn funny all the same...
