It depends, dunnit. I mean, if a relationship was based on sex then, er, no!

I think the answer to this question lies in how much importance each party puts on sex. But certainly a great sex life would only make a good relationship better, but continued great sex in an otherwise bad relationship could be pretty emotionally damaging to both parties. Once you're in a relationship you are emotionally involved, so if the relationship breaks down and sex continues then it's inevitably going to end in tears.
