oscars 'event' anywhere

does anyone know of an event or a bar or something in london, where the OSCARS are going to be shown? i'm going to be in london with no access to sky tv (its on sky movies 1 apparently). also my last resort is a hotel - does anyone know of a cheapy central one, which has sky (sky movies 1!) in each room.

have you asked the beeb? i remember staying up one year to watch the live oscar ceremony. It was on from about 3 in the morning. The highlights were shown two nights later.

yep! have asked the beeb - watched it on 2 last year, and other years - but this year sky have snatched it. have also asked sky - who very helpfully told me its on sky movies 1.

If it's any consolation there doesn't seem to be an Oscars do in Edinburgh either - the Filmhouse aren't doing one this year.

We're looking at self-catering or hotel with sky movies 1 but so far looks like cheapy and Sky Movies 1 don't go together.
