Is winErrorFixer 2007 genuine? Something came up on my screen 'suggesting' I install it. What is it?

I would be inclined to shy away from confidence tricks like this one. WinFixer and WinAntiVirus are scams designed to give you a false sense of security. If you feel the need to "fix things" I would suggest that you look at cleaning out spyware, temporary files and run a virus scan. If you need tools to help you with these, search for SpyBot, CCleaner and AVGFree. If a web-page pops up a box inviting you to install something that you didn't ask for...ignore it or click on the red cross in the top right (in Windows), but make sure that it's the real red cross!
