'm thinking of buying a new or nearly new VW Golf fsi 1.6 Match. I wondered if anyone could recommend one of those sites where you put in the name of the car you're looking for and dealers get back to you with their best prices. Of course if I can find a demonstrator all the better and avoid that nasty VAT. Don't suppose there are many around as it's such a new car. If anyone has bought this particular model I'd be grateful for feedback too. Thanks everybody.

Only thing I could recommend is buy a golf diesel instead of the petrol model, you`ll not be dissapointed

Actually I already have a Golf 1.9 PD GT TDi diesel, it's over 5 years old and has been a brilliant car. It still has less than 40k miles on the clock too. I just read a few reviews about the new FSi engine that were glowing. Also, VW seem to have gotten their act together and now offer more equipment (like wheels ha ha) as standard on their new Match. Thanks for taking the time to post, much appreciated.
I knew i`d reply to a post of yours before b/lizzy, stick with another diesel you know you want to :)
PS just out of curiosity how much are you looking for go get for your TDi ????

Wow, aren't you clever to remember.

Everybody says we should hang onto our lovely Golf. I suppose we just fancied a new'ish car. I got waylaid with Christmas an all, but decided to get stuck into researching a replacement car in the New Year. We've had this car longer than any other we've had and it's been a corker. The only thing wrong with it is a tiny supermarket trolley ding that happened two days after we'd taken delivery. Hardly noticeable, but hey, it was bl**dy annoying at the time. We will probably flog it in the local paper or one of the auto mags. I'm not keen on part exchange with an oily main dealer salesman :-) to be honest. It's a great car and has served us well, and will carry on doing the job until we are sure we can replace it with at least a comparable Golf. Oooh err decisions, decisions.
