Is this the correct section to ask what was the next black & white film after Elephant Man in 1980 to be nominated for an Oscar, please?

And does anyone know the answer as I've googled and got nowhere

Thanks in anticipation

Could it be Schindlers List?
Raging Bull was same year as Elephant Man

Thank you both very much indeed.

Good Night and Good Luck?
"Schindler's List" (and "Raging Bull" for that matter) were films containing both B&W and colour footage.

The next film comprised entirely of B&W footage to be nominated for a Best Picture Academy Award was George Clooney's "Good Night, and Good Luck" in 2006.

Thank you both, Metz and Kempie. I was quite amused at my own re-action to Metz' posting as i thought he/she was just being friendly, even though 22.40 is not very late for me! It was only when I read kempie's posting did i realise the truth!! oh, dear! need to get a grip, i think!
Broadway Danny Rose (1984)?

(Nominated for Best Dir & Best Screenplay - both Woody Allen - in 1985)
Question Author
Thank you very much for your help. I now see that I have to read the question very carefully.

It was certainly a nomination and not a winner that was asked for. i shall investigate if it was any award or best screenplay or picture.

many thanks again
