I found it far more painful when I had to lay on the bed and be monitored.

Being able to move around is great natural pain relief ~ with my home birth I was constantly on the move and although the pain was intense it was far easier to cope with. The more control you are in, and the more relaxed you are the less pain relief you need..this is a fact. I don't feel as if I am a better person for not needing artificial pain relief, it is just part of my birth experience that I can share with others.

In fact it was through sharing my experiences that a couple of pregnant friends managed to do without pain relief too specifically for their subsequent labours (and very grateful they were). I don't see why I should keep it to myself..and like methods for feeding the baby, it is each to their own!
hi ive got four children so im getting quite used to giving birth lol i had the same pain relief with all four of them which was pethidine and gas and air. pethidine made me feel like i was a bit drunk lol but took my mind off the pain and gas n air is just great i loved it although my mouth was sooooooooooo dry it was unbelievable.
i have always found that the actual labour pains were the worst part, they r really painful but i suppose if you get an epidural u wont feel them but i was just too afraid of gettin it done i hate needles and pethidine was just a quick jab.
the giving birth bit i thought was the easiest part coz you know that its all gona be over very soon lol everyones experiences are different and like everyone says the pain just dissapears completely once you see your baby and you know it was all well worth it. i swore after my first child that i wouldnt go through it again and before i knew it im a mother of four lol good luck with the birth and i hope that everything goes brilliantly for you and i wish you and ur baby good health oh n merry xmas
hiya, I made do with gas & air , good stuff!!!!! although not for everyone, I know . Just relax, don't panic and certainly don't get worked up. let's face it it's gonna happen anyway, so just go with the flow. It's not that painful honestly, mind you I was high as a kite on the gas!!!
