I would like to ask.
Can i use the simpsons with power point in teaching is this legal. I found out the rules may be diffrent for teaching, but could not find the rules. I was going to use marge and homer and require about 5 pictures to use here in the uk.

can anyone clear this up for me.

Under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 s.34, you have a defence of use of copyrighted work for
"Performing, playing or showing work...in the course of activities of educational establishment". I should imagine that such a small use of copyrighted work would be covered under the defence, and it acts in your favour as the work you do is for the benefit of the public; as a matter of policy, the courts are genuinely reluctant to sue schools or teachers (It takes away money that could be used to make sure the breach doesn't occur again)
