Last night the drivers side window on my Fiat Seicento was smashed by vandals (just for the fun of it apparently cos there was nothing in the car to steal). Ive had quotes from various car window replacement company's that range from 170-190 which I can't afford to pay. The car was on loan from an elderly friend and I want to avoid going through his insurance. Is there any way I can buy a window myself and have a friend fit it? Ive tried looking on the net but havent gotten anywhere. Im in Bradford. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Should be able to get it done on insurance paying 50 excess in most cases without affecting no claims bonus check policy or contact insurance company.
costs you have mentioned seem very excessive.
As Jg96 says - contact your friends insurance company - pay your mate the 50 (bear in mind this could happen to anyone at any time - don't feel guilty - if you were my mate I wouldn't ask you to pay) the insurance company will foot the bill under the window/windscreen insurance.

They will go to your friends house and fit it for him in no time.
Hi lizzydrippin
dont they have breakers/salvage yards in BRADFORD
or do as almcd007 says.

If the side window is covered by wndscreen insurance it shouldn't affect his no claims bonus
