I feed my koi throughout the winter whenever they come up for food.

At the moment, its probably a bit cold but last week, they were being fed two small feeds a day. Daytime temps of about 7-8 deg C usually see the fish getting active.

I would say that if the fish are active and seem to be looking for food...feed them. It'll build up valuable lost energy reserves. But only feed small amounts...do not overfeed.

i agree with hammerman, I check my pond most days and if the fish are swimming about I feed them, but only in small amounts, even in summer I believe in feeding little but often
