nokia 6233 usb cable help!

I recently got myself a new nokia 6233 phone, but i'm having problems trying to transfer music files from my pc to the phones memory. It didn't come with a usb cable so i purchased a cheap on from ebay. The thing is nokia pc suite seem to recognise the phone has been conected to the pc when i plug it in.
any help appreciated.
