In a quiz tonight, we were asked "what is the only 10 letter word that can be typed using the top row of a computer keyboard". The answer given was "typewriter" (appropritely enough - might also have been deliberate - see Wikipedia). However, we came up with 'proprietor' - am I missing something??? In a previous post (Sept '05 to be precise (!!) )- the LONGEST word was given as three possibles - not all in the dictionary though:-

"Proprietory" I would definitely rule out as a mis-spelling of "ProprietAry". Odd tho' that there is "Proprietorial" with the "O" (but not as top-liner).

Thanks Phil, but I'm not looking for the longest, just a 10 letter word. Probably a bad quiz question - not thought through.
