I have a 2 year old Jack Russell who is peeing in the house. He'll sneak off and do it when we are not looking. Mainly on the bathroom floor or a spot in the kitchen. He is trained to pee outside - as every morning he waits by the door to go outside. Also - He'll tap the door when he wants to go out. Any suggestions are appreciated as he is doing it nearly every day !!!

Can`t answer this myself but i`ll look forward to see the replies because i`ve the same dog thats the same age and he does exactly the same thing
It's a tough one. I have a female JR who used to be a serial offender (Number twos mainly).

I just had to keep all the doors to other rooms closed and make sure that she was with me all the time. If I see her circling and sniffing I plonk her out the door and won't let her in until she does something. This may involve standing out there with the dog and saying weewee and when they do it emphasise that they are a good dog.
My dogs will now weewee pretty much on command as I think they have learned that the sooner they do it the sooner they can come back in to sit near the roaring fire
It may be difficult but it will pay off.
my min pin is almost 11 mnths old and still not properly house trained!,i have to block him in his bed with the clothes horse at night to stop him getting up and weeing!
dogs are very territorial and will leave their [ mark ] wherever they can. toilets and kitchens are ideal due to the smells which are available, also do you have visitors who own cats or dogs , because your dog will pick it up. and its on his patch so to speak. im sorry to say my dogs are thirteen years old and i still have some problems in that area, some dogs are keener than others so its just a question of disinfectant in large amounts. good luck
Hello,

I have an 8 year old female Jack Russell and I have the same problem. Although she knows to go outside (we have a dog door), she continually pees on throw rugs or any other carpet in the house. She sneaks to do it as well. No one ever witnesses her doing it!

We have been through so much carpet over the past 8 years that we decided to change to ceramic tile. She rarely pees on the tile - but any throw rugs are prime targets.

I always believed that she was just being spiteful. She's the most obnoxious dog we have (we have four dogs - Yellow Lap, Japanese Chin, Jack Russell and Yorkie mix). Even our neighbors hate her! LOL
