Same as any other device, switch it off then switch it back on. This is a hard reboot.

So why don't they just say, switch it off then on. Or is that to easy.
Hi mr b if u have the same as me then it is white (netgear)and you can lie it down or stand up - if you look at the back there is a little black hole that you can insert a biro or pencil into .
i was told by sky to reboot you have to turn off both comp and router then turn them both on, as you turn on comp insert pen/pencil into reset hole in router for 15 seconds AS COMP IS STARTING UP and then test to see if same problem still occurs.
I did it and it worked for me, hope it helps.
do not follow teknofear advice. this is reseting the router back to factory defaults! you will lose all settings!!!!

Thanks cushty. So why is tekno wanting me to do that, and how did his work?
you should be able to open your router settings in explorer usually type 192.168.0.1 into browser bar.once their you should see something like diagnostics and in that an option to rebbot router.
Hi cushty that advice was given to me by a sky tech rep over the fone and i was advised to do that, it did reset the box but i didnt lose any settings
Mattk gives best advice. if 198.162.0.1 doesn't work try .0 or .2 at the end. It can vary by model but is typically within that range. There will almost certainly be a reboot option. mind you i do tend to just switch them off and on again if i have probs and this usually works.

Yeah don't reste it or you could end up with far more problems.
