I just had a very nasty encounter with some Tesco Healthy Living Cheddar. I made a lovely bowl of pasta and made the mistake of mixing in loads of this vile stuff! Now my bowl, fork, saucepan and teeth are coated in this weird substance that I fear will remain forever. What do they put in it....glue???
Have I just chosen a particularly naff brand or are they all like this?

Tell me about it! I went to this party at Xmas and the day after my hostess (who is lactose intolerant) gave me the remains of the cheeseboard to take home. Nice bit of stilton and a whopping piece of 'cheddar'.

I had people over the next evening so added these cheeses to my cheeseboard. I cut a slice of the 'cheddar' and the texture wasn't rich and crumbly but slightly halloumi-esque. Waxy and a bit squeaky and there was no taste at all. Nothing.
One of my friends who is French summed it up nicely saying 'What is this sh1t? Bleurgh, throw eet away'
The Weight Watchers brand is pretty awful too. I have currently got some Sainsburys BGTY grated cheddar which is OK but Rather than haxing half fat cheese I think I shall stick to half the amount of full fat - much tastier.
It must have been Weightwatchers because the girl who brought it to the party is a WW freak.
Yuk, yuk, yuk.
In a word... no!
cream cheese?
cottage cheese with pineapple chunks?
sorry you are not going to get low fat hard cheeses that taste nice - it's the fat that gives them the flavour
guys, cheese was designed to be low fat! you`ll never find low fat product that tastes the same as the normal product. just eat in moderation :)

Buy a stronger full fat cheese than you are used to and use less - it works for me!
