I've joined a gym and struggle for motivation. It's quite expensive and I've joined for a year. I need something to make it more interesting. I don't mind physical work and I enjoy playing sport. I don't want to fork out for a personal instructor but need some sort of structure. Any ideas are welcome???

I have been a member of david lloyd for 6 months and love it, ask for a re-assessment and keep it varied,
Set yourself little targets and keep a chart of your goals, really helps me! I count calories, and minutes doing cardio
Good luck
Hi.....I don't know if you're m or f but I use a lot of the workouts in Women's Health magazine......it's an American magazine but the exercises are a little bit different to your bog-standard British stuff (www.womenshealthmag.com).
If you're a man.....sorry but I can't help (but the male magazine equivalent is Men's Health www.menshealth.co.uk, maybe there might be some ideas in there). Also, Runners world website has workouts on their website www.runnersworld.co.uk
You can also buy personal trainer packages for your mp3 player which are a lot cheaper than the real thing (but I've never actually used one), maybe you could try that (& let me know if it's worth getting!!!!)
Hiya, when i'm working out, for one have headphones to listen to the tele. But if not, i change what i do every 2-5mins, i.e. on the crosstrainer go forward 2mins then backwards for 2mins, just change something small, the way your arms are or something and time 2-5mins then change again. the time seems to fly by! good luck
