removal of telegraph poles

i have had a telegraph pole put outside of my house and i was not even informed. it could cause future problems if i wanted to have a driveway and also might start causing problems for my diabled mother but i live in a council owned home. can i have it removed

I don't think so. I assume it is on the service strip which is between your house and the road. You have no rights over this area, and anyway the house is rented so I suspect you personally would not be able to take any action without the owner's backing.
'Fraid not - BT have a standard agreement with every Council that they can place poles on the highway, or on Council-owned land, so in this instance, you have no rights. Sorry.
