hello ppl... i posted a topic called 'graze' last nite and all the help was very valued but somebody else has told me to not put creams or any ointments on it as it will moisten the wounds and it needs to scab (lovely) but in that case... how do i keep it clean? just good old soap and water??

Well soap and water will moisten it too so i would keep up treating it because sometimes it can take weeks for scabs to heal. And one on your nose? Not so aesthetically pleasing... :O)
Soap and water will moisten it but dries very quickly, creams especially keep the wound moist for a longer period. Just wash it and dry being careful not to displace the scab.
wounds heal best in a moist warm enviornment, which i why we use plasters
prinny - I would say keeping it as dry as possible will speed the healing process up, it needs to scab over as you said. My son had the same dilemma, i told him to get the hairdryer on it for a few minutes each day. Once the scab fell off of it's own accord, you can put a good emolient on it such as E45 cream.
