Rogue diallers can only work if you are connected to the internet by dial up modem - they need the telephone line to work.

As you are on broadband a rogue dialler can do nothing at all.

Apart from the clicking noise, what makes you think you have a rogue dialler? What's it called?

thanks, ewido tells me its a rogue dialler called "dialler idialler" and ive seen it in my network places and i have had last year a rogue dialler calling adult lines costing me 10 -even though i was on b/band
I believe some slight clarification is in order...

Although you are using a broadband connection, if you still have a dialup modem connected to a phoneline the rogue dialler will use that connection to dial out; the fact that you have broadband does not automatically mean that rogue diallers will not affect you (and your phone bill).

mmm confusion .....how do i tell if i have a dial up modem?(im sure i dont)
Have a look at the back of your PC and see if there is a card with what looks like normal telephone cable attached to the back of it.

Also, right mouse click on my computer, select properties, hardware, device manager and look for an entry for a modem, this will be a category by itself or under network adapters.

If present, right mouse click on it and select disable.
