By the very fact that you have asked the question, I suggest that you think it is a possibility.
As a survivor of an abusive and violent relationship, I would recommend that you move on.
He has possibly done this to others in the past and will do it again in the future - minimise the chance of it being you ....or your daughter in years to come.
Unfortunately it will probably happen to some other poor woman. They dion't change.
I think there's a good chance it will happen again. If he's a man who thinks its ok to hit a woman, there's nothing in him to prevent it happening again.
Your children will definitely be affected. I grew up in a very violent household where alcohol caused this sort of thing on a regular basis. I was woken many times as a young child to awful sounds from downstairs. I was terrified that he would kill my mother but was too young to be able to do anything about it.
I have pushed all this to the back of my mind but even writing about it now is bringing back all those old feelings of fear. I'm trying not to cry.
When I witness any violence I am back to being that child again and feel the fear and sick dread again.
Think carefully if you want to risk your children growing up feeling like this.
No child deserves to.
