I want to get a laminate floor in a room which is about 16 sq metres. I've absolutely no idea how much I should pay someone to lay/fit it. I've already got the actual laminate and just need it laying...

A fitter will probably cahrge you for a days labour I would allow about 100 for this. you may get one a bit cheaper but I think most will want a days wage.

Cheers Ray. Gives me an idea of what to expect.
Nothing if you do it yourself. It really isnt that hard to do
I paid about 7 a square metre, for 43 m2, over 2.5 days, so about 110 / 1 days work for your job?
McNoodle, what I am saying is, It wont take a day, about half a day, depending on angles/doorways/fireplace etcm but most people want a days pay even if it only takes half the day. you were very lucky to get it done that cheap, I wouldn;t do 2 and a half days work for, 110.
Sorry McNoodle I miss read yours, I first thought you were saying you had yours laid for 110, my mistake, teach me to read properly.
301 I paid in total, and though the guy did a good job he was in and out all day.
He did say 2 -3 days in his quote, but if he wanted to he could easily have done it in 2, and if I had been paying by the hour I wouldn't have been happy.
