It depends on what your furniture is made from, if it is
melamine which flat pack usually is there is a new paint
for melamine, from BQ but expensive and the undercoat is,
manufactures are aways developing new paints to cover
all sorts of materials do they work ? in my opinion very rarely, melamine was never made for painting, and when I have seen it done it looks awful.and in a short space of time it will peel of after all that effort. If you have pine furniture then it is possible but you would need to sand it all down first remove any varnish, undercoat and top coat.
hope to have been some help.

Thanks clever Trev, sounds like to much hard work...think i might leave it ...
Save your pennies and treat yourself at a later date,
you can get some good deals on flat packs sometimes,
Ive know people start to paint kitchen cupboards and get fed up half way round because they can see that the finish is poor, then they ask me to complete them but its a no no. you will not compete with a factory finish.but i can understand why they want it done to try and save money, and some times they watch the daft things they do on telly. happy shopping.
