Three more that are causing much brain pain!
1 Which musical instrument was quoted with approval by (a) a 16th C eligious reformer and (b) a 19th C clergy and wit, both with Scottish connections? Also who were they?
2 Which fictitious character is associated with a boat called 'Covenant'?
3 What was the title of the 1959 novel taken from a West Indian calypso?

Any ideas gratefully recieved.
I'm going to concentrate on the many others still to do.
Thank very much.

Thanks Cheaton.
I'm assuming they want the owner so will go for the Captain, otherwise it could be associated with quite a few of the characters.
1. I answered this about a month ago. Sorry - not good at cutting and pasting ,but if you use the " search the site" column on the left , and put key words in - "musical instrument quoted " - the answer should come up . No guarantee that it is correct !
Thanks Slaney. I had already deduced Trumpet for John Knox but couldn't get anything for Sydney Smith.

Bless you and good luck.
