Hi, We seem to hav an over abundance of aphids on our fruit trees this year. The really mess up the leaves. I have noticed their little ant protectors tending them as well. Has anyone found a simple remedy to control this pest problem?

Ladybirds eat aphids. To stop the ants climbing your fruit trees and protecting the aphids you can get gungey tape you wrap around the base of the trees. The ants are after a sugary substance that is secreted by the aphids.
You can use a dilute solution of washing up liquid made up with lots of water to deter the aphids as a gentle method of pest control.
