Well I met my husband through writing to him whilst he was serving in Bosnia and we fell in love and got married. It's not quite what you asked but it does happen!

Curious question... I'd have thought that as well as initiating a contact via the Internet, wouldn't you have to spend some time actually getting to know each other in person? Becoming familiar with their little habits, seeing if anything really grated.....If you took time to do that too, then I don't see why not.
yes it does happen.

and in the case of my uncle, he met an american woman on the internet, she moved to england, they got married and she subsequently blackmailed him into giving her all his earnings, then f*cked off to italy with another bloke!

aahhh... what a lovely story!
My son met an Ozzie girl on internet. Went over to Australia to meet her, she came to England, they got married and moved to Australia. He has just got his Australian Citizenship and is happy as Larry. He has'nt looked back since Rgds Al
My mum married my stepdad who she met through internet dating.

Depending on the person you are then yes, I'm sure you can meet someone on the internet you're attracted to.

Whether the actual falling in love bit comes with the internet interaction or the bit where you actually meet the person I wouldn't like to guess. My own inclination would be towards the latter but I've been told many times that you can fall in love with someone you've not physically met. Perhaps I'm an old cynic.
Falling in love with someone over the internet is easy.
Getting married (and moving to the same country) is slightly harder what with all the bureaucracy involved.
The really difficult bit is getting to grips with each others culture. (language, beliefs, way of doing things, etc.).

Been there, done that, got the battle scars!
