Sorry, probably a stupid question. But if you purchase a psp, do you have to buy a memory card straight away. Or is it something I could get later. Thanks.

Without a memory card you will not be able to save scores/games to allow you to come back to them later. The PSP has no inbuilt memory for that.
You will be able to pause games overnight/longer as the PSP can sleep with a game running and come back to it later.

If you are getting games like Grand theft Auto or Fifa etc its vital to save progress. If you are only interested in puzzles like Bust a move/Lumines you will get away with it for a while maybe.
mem cards are incredibly cheap compared to a year ago.i bought a 1gig one last year for my sons psp and was amazed at this great deal i got cos at the time the going rate for 1gig mem cards was 70.ive just bought another 1gig card for 18 !
You will get a small one in the box that will be enough for a few saved games, and maybe a demo or two off the website but no more.

Thanks everyone.
If you want to use your PSP to play music and store photos then a memory stick is essential. i would recommend a look at ebay for mem sticks. I have just paid 24 (inc postage) for a 2gb stick that costs about 60 in Game and other similar shops. If you only require it for game saves then the one it comes with should be fine. Good luck.
