I got a rush of blood to the head last night and dyed my blonde hair light brown using a L'Oreal product which is supposed to be semi permanent. Trouble is it looks dark brown and its quite a solid colour so I look like I've got a wig on. Any tips on lightening it up quickly - Its supposed to last 6-8 weeks. I need a quick fix !!!!

In the past I have used the body shops grapefruit shampoo which is quite good at stripping colour from your hair, that may be worth a try
sort of the same thing as quinah - invest in some head and shoulders and use that. it dulls it down a lot making it look less harsh
Poor you! I spent 30 years of my life with dark brown to black hair, spent 1 year blonde and when I returned to what was supposed to be mid brown I felt like a lego character with helmet hair. Never underestimate how miserable this can make you! I tried everything! Some people suggested washing up liquid but I tried the detox shampoos designed to strip hair of product build up. It did have some sort of effect, but you will need some time to get used to the look. Also wash hair twice a day with the detox shampoo and see how that helps speed the fading process. Good luck!!!!

Thanks for your suggestions. Much to my husband's disgust I took the expensive route out of it and went and had some hi-lites, a reddish tint and toner this morning. 65 poorer but much happier. Might even keep it dark for a little while.
