If for example you are on an exit slip road on the motorway which still parellels the main carriageway, are you allowed to go "undertake" a lorry on the right which is going slow, as you are turning off anyway? Or are you technically breaking the law?

I can't tell whether you are in America (or another country that drives onthe right) from your question or in England. As if you are "undertaking" on the right - then in England you would be overtaking, which is fine, but it depends on the destinations of the lanes you have ended up in. If the lorry is in a right hand lane and that lane goes right/straight on and you want to go left then you are fine to pass on the inside if your lane you are in goes straight on or left. I wouldn't understand a Lorry being in the right hand lane of a slip road, just as it exited the carriageway and wanting to turn left.
I took it to mean 'are you allowed to undertake a lorry that it is to your right' (assuming the lorry was going along in the inside lane, and you had gone onto an exit slip road to the lorry's left?) I don't know the answer though - lorries can go so slow, especially on hills. Some exit slip raods are really long, otherwise I'd say that people should be slowing down anyway on them. Will be interested to know the answer, as I have 'undertaken' in that situation in the past.
my interpretation of the law is this .. you cannot deliberately change lanes to undertake, but if the lane you are in is moving faster than the one on your right then its perfectly lega
