Has anyone heard of the Wilbur Force?

It was called something like the wilbur force, was a 70's/80's English sci fi series, with weird sea monsters who came out the sea surprisingly. The good guys went round in a classic car. Everyone Ive asked thinks ive dreamt it, can anyone remember it?

Sounds like an earth bound series of Doctor Who. When Jon Pertwee was The Doctor he had a vintage car (called Bessie I think), and I remember an episode where creature-of-the-black-lagoon-type monsters rose from the sea and scared people. Me included.
