I have decided to either install a parcel drop box outside the flat. They cost a bit of dosh.
Or
Install a cat flap half way up the door. Can you put a cat flap in a panelled front door?

I'd highly recommend against putting a catflap in a front door. If a postman can put a parcel in there god knows what else random weirdos will poke through it.
A while since I worked for PO,but most parcels these days seem to require the recipients signature. Again,i'm not sure, but if your not in,the postman/woman used to leave a form with options. Pick it up from named office;deliver to another house nearby or send on another date when you'll be in.within reason of course,it's not a storage depot.
I'm agree with drchasuble.not worth the security risk. Some of these tealeaves are like rats for getting into tight places
