does this quote make sense..
"history is whats happening"?
i think it does, because we are making history, and we will look back in time and rember the things that we have done.

Yes, it makes figurative sense...though an apostrophe after the 't' in your 'whats' would be better! The past - which starts about a microsecond ago - is what history is all about. I say 'figurative' because something that happened even a microsecond ago cannot truly be said to be happening now. However, as a manner of expressing the thought, it is perfectly acceptable.
im not so sure Quiz is right. History needs appraisal. Its important to know what effect 'NOW' has. this cant be done until its happened. until it's in the past.

in short the phrase 'history is what's happening' cannot be right because 'history is actually the effect NOW has'
History never looks like history when you are living through it.

i belive that it is true, because to have made history, you will have to have made it, so we are making history right now.
like to make a cake, you would have to be making it in order to have made a cake.

As I said, it makes figurative sense. What you eat is a cake, not a mix of raw flour, butter, salt or whatever. It didn't become a cake until it had finished cooking and by then you were no longer making it.
