Are these two linked? As it is getting colder I have turned up the heating but when I do this the water in the shower gets colder, are these two items linked or am I just losing the plot?

Economy 7 stores heat over night and releases it through the day through storage heaters. More heating to the house = less heating for the water.

But surely the electric shower is a totally independent item, it doesnt run off any hot water in the tank. I am confuddled! Maybe I will try taking a shower in the evening to see if the temperature is different, what do you think?
I can't see that they are connected - you aren't using electricity when your storage heaters are giving out heat in the day/evening. You used it the previous night when they charged up.

Are you sure that the water in the shower isn't the same temperature and just feels colder relative to the warmer temperature in the room?
Loosehead is wrong.

Economy 7 is just cheaper electricity overnight - however it is used. If you have an immersion heater it will be cheaper to heat the water overnight.
Similarly with storage heaters, tumble driers, washing machines.....

However, your electric shower will heat the water as you shower. The higher the flow, the cooler the water. At this time of year the ambient water temperature is cooler anyway - so the shower has to work harder to heat it.

Try turning the shower DOWN - so you get a less powerful flow.

Thanks guys, dzug - i did consider that it feels cold due to the relative temperature but its much worse that that, I have turned the shower heat up but sadly its more of a 'spit and a dribble' now! Its really weird!
warpig - take the shower head and give it a good cleaning.

Most come apart easily. I bet it's clogged with limescale. This will at least improve the flow.
he did not say it was a separate electric shower!
