Party games
anyone know any good games for party of about 20 people ages ranging from 13 - 90 to play on Boxing Day! Charades and quizes are the stand by but would like something a little different.

It depends how much you want to spend. I'm thinking there are alot of games consoles with party games on them. The "Playstation 2" would be the best console you may already have one, have a member of the family be able to bring one along or you maybe able to get one second hand.
The games for for Playstation 2 are:
Karaoke called "Sing Star" it has lots of old and modern music for all ages. You gat two microphones which plug into the console and the words come up on the screen. You can complete and sing duets. Extremely funny and easy to understand.
"Eyetoy" is a camera which plugs into the console and comes with Eyetoy games which allows the player to really be put into the game. You put the carmera on top of your TV and it captures footage of the person or people in front of the TV and puts the footage on screen in the game the game responds to your movements and therefore is motion activated. Games for the eyetoy are mini party games which last minutes so evryone can have a go it is as fun to wach as play and again is for all ages, very basic nothing to learn.
Dance mat - is for the younger - people under 30 really. It is a home version of an arcade style game it is very energetic and therefore age limited and would leave out the older, unfit or uncoordinated, so not as recomended.
One of the younger kids coming maybe able to bring these kind of games etc and set it up for you and trust me the place will be buzzing.

What about other funny games
Theres one with a balloon where you work in pairs to move a balloon from a-b with there hand behind their backs. It starts with the balloon between the two peoples noses and while one stands fairly still the other person moves the ballon down the persons body through their legs up their back and the still person then trys to turn round so that the balloon is between noses again. The team is out if the balloon pops, if it is dropped you start again, of course it is the first team to complete the a-b that wins
Pass the parcel with joke/funny presents.
Or tresure hunt round the house with clues - prizes are little toys etc

Also "Screwball Scramble" is a clasic game which will keep people entertained, more forcused on the younger but a nice little game for the price tag.

Theres also the game where a large dice or spinner is passed around. Anyone who throws a six has to go into the middle and put on lots of ridiculous dressing up gear - wellies, goggles, gardening gloves, duffle coat etc. - before attempting to open a bar of chocolate and eat it with a knife and fork.

One thing you can do which can be ongoing throughout the day as a background activity for all ages is to set up a table somewhere with a jigsaw puzzle on it. Then if somebody gets bored or doesn't necessarily want to join in the games, they can quietly puzzle away . Some people don't necessarily enjoy being team players in games, especially if they feel other people are brighter or more intelligent and this might be an outlet for them.
And finally, there's 'Black Magic'. You have to plan this in advance with a partner.

The next item they suggest will be the right one.

We always do a picture quiz. Get some tv mags, and other popular magazines. Cut pictures out (old and new TV stars - there'll be old ones in the xmas mags when the xmas films are being advertised) of celebrities, places, etc. and stick them on sheets of paper. The papers must be numbered and the pictures have a letter next to them. Then, in teams, pass them all round and everyone has to write down who/what the picture is. Answers are read out a while later when everyone has completed their answer forms.
Again, good for oldies and youngsters, a quiz. We usually do TV, film, current affairs from the past year, sport, etc. You can think of questions aimed at older members of the family and younger ones. It's easy to do and if you get stuck just go on www.

I think ummmmm means consequences, which we always play when Mr Spudqueens family get together. On a long thinish piece of paper you write a mans name (can be anybody, someone in the family or someone famous), fold it over so it can't be seen and pass the paper to the person on your left. The next thing is a girls name, then where they met, what he said, what she said and what the consequence was. Then they are all read out aloud. Everyone from 8 years old upwards enjoys it.
