They are just pigmentation, and mean nothing. Some breeds such as Chows and Shar Pei are required to have a coloured tongue, usually blue/black, although any breed can have spots.

oh did you go to discover dogs by the way?i went on the saturday,it was excellent! i saw the breeder of my min pin but she was on the hound group exibiting her sloughi or something like that!! its some sort of dog with web feet for the desert i think but cant remember the name!!

oh she had her pharoh hound with her also!! i remember now!! x
