I know the AA charge now, to take you home after an accident or breakdown - RAC don't. Would you recommend RAC as the best? I have tried Green Flag website, but the questions are just too much. I just want a basic rescue service !!

Im with Greenflag via tesco which is easy to fill in.
I have a old car L reg, went to france via tesco site and it cost me 12 for the day. But if you ask greenflag direct they wont do it?
hi, I was with the r.a.c. and my people carrier full of kids broke down 250 miles from home. they sent a wagon and put my car on the back, took some of the passangers in the breakdown truck and the rest of us went home by train. I sent the bill for the train fare to the r.a.c. and they paid up no trouble and without question( about 160.00 ). they may be dearer than the rest, but great service.

I'm happy with Autonational Rescue.

Their full package (roadside service, recovery, emergency travel & accommodation costs and home service) is 88 per year but that's reduced to 66 per year if you've not had a breakdown in the past 12 months. (Additionally, new members get 15 months cover for the price of 12):
