I recentley had a liver problem as i was using too much paracetemol to treat aches pains etc, i also used to drink wuite a bit but i now dont use either, my enzymes were very high 1000+ according to the dr when the max is 70 they are now back to normal but he says my liver is badly damaged how can i fix it or do i have to refrain from drinking forever?

If it is early stages of liver damage, then there is a possibility that the liver can repair itself Jon. You mention that your liver was badly damaged.... have you had a liver biopsy or any form of imaging? If it is truly badly damaged, then it may stabilize, but it is unlikely to fully repair itself.

Implicit in all of this is abstention from alcohol for a period of months/ years to give the liver a chance to recover, or for good if there is serious damage.

The best person to get this information from would be your Doctor, since it is they who will have the best idea of how badly damaged your liver is. Go see them.
