Hi,

I've suffered with the odd spot here and there all my life but this has got much better in recent years as my diet has improved and I now do a lot of exercise. However. ever since I met my now boyfriend a couple of months back, I seem to have developed quite a few spots around my jaw line, my cheeks and chin. I think the spots on my chin may have something to do with his facial hair aggravating my skin but I just can't work out why they won't go away. As soon as one is clearing up, another develops next to it.

I really take care of myself and wash my face in the morning, cleanse with Clinique and add moisturiser, drink a lot of water and herbal teas and eat healthily but something seems to have changed in recent weeks.

Also, when I normally get spots they last a few days but these have lasted for weeks!!! It's really getting me down as I feel really self conscious in front of him and don't want to given it is still the start of the relationship.

Any help very much appreciated!

As the spots are so persistent, regardless of diet and cleansing routine, then you should go see your GP. A friend of mine suffered badly with acne for years and her GP finally found a treatment that worked wonders and she's had great skin ever since!

In the meantime, try some cleansing face masks. LUSH do a whole selection of fresh face masks. I'm using the Brazened Honey one and it's brilliant. I think it's detoxifying too, so you may want to try it.
the spots could be due to a hormonal inbalance especially if there are around the jawline, it could be a sign of polycystic ovaries you should see gp, it's probably nothing to worry about but it's worth getting it checked out!
