For anyone who might have applied for one recently, from the Metropolitan Police, how long did it take to receive?

They have 40 days to reply to you, but should one expect it to take the full 40 days?

Jonno - I had to get a PNC check for immigration purposes. It took around 8 weeks. I applied in June and got around begining of August. They did tell me this at the time though

8 weeks... oh dear that's a long time. It is frustrating as it holds up everything else going on in my life... in particular, because the record will be blank!

Ah yes PNC, Police National Computer. There seem to be a lot of names for it, the Police refer to it as 'the Freedom of Information' (thing).

Thx for the reply.

In case anyone searches this thread in future, for the record it arrived 3 weeks after handing in the request at a big local police station (from my experience, go a big police station, as I'd tried to lodge it the same day at a smaller local one, and for various reasons, they could not take the request...)
