Does anyone know if the remington S9900 (straight in a stroke nanogold) ones are any good? I don't straighten my hair much but when i do i want it to be dead straight and last for a reasonable amount of time! Am looking for some around 40? Any ideas?

remmington are good, however i would reccommend that no-one buys them.. for this reason, i got soem from argos i think for around 30/40 and after a year of use, they started sparking then little flames came out of them so i never ever used them again and i wouldnt buy remmington ones again. sorry just a word of warning.
if you get some for around that price - as missjef says - they wont last. i have got really curly hair and use ghd's if i want it straight, they are brilliant, they are expensive but they will last you much longer so you wont have to buy them twice!!!

you can get a pair from around 70 - if you ask your hairdresser to order a pair for you!

Sorry, but I'm really not looking for GHDs no matter how good people say they are! I can't justify spending 70 on them when I'm only going to use them occasionally, i only want to spend about 40. Also the reason I liked the look of the remington S990 ones was because they were high heat (230 degrees) and appeared to have nice curved edges to the plates which would be good for less snagging & pulling of hair and also creating flicks and curls. The one thing that I'm not so keen on is ceramic/teflon etc coated plates; I'd much rather have solid ones as apparently the coating flakes off after a while.
Bearing this in mind anyone got anymore ideas? Thanks!
i got soem really cheap Babyliss straightners from morrisons, theyre really thin & heat up in just a few seconds.
I bought babyliss ones and they are crap. just aswell of bought ghds in the first place, I ended up paying 75 quid for mine, the babyliss ones i just chucked in bin. go on add a extra 35 quid wont break the bank. You will justify it when you start using them, they just glide through the hair. lasts for days. dont be tight get ghds
Look -------------------- 74quid bargain>>>>>>
