Connection issues with Battlefield 2

I am having regular problems with Battlefield 2

After about a minute or so of playing online it says "There is a problem with my connection" and disconnects me

I have forwarded all necessary ports, tried deactivating firewalls, configured my router to the standard EA wanted, but still no luck

Reckon anyone could help? Thank you

For some unknown reason, these issues are often router dependent but if you are forwarding all the correct ports and playing with the router firewall off, the one other thing you could try is to enter the game, and then disable VOIP in the audio options. This was a suggestion floating around the BF2 and BF2142 forums and seems to have solved the issue for quite a few people.
If you still have trouble, the forums at www.BF2S.com have loads of threads about disconnection problems.

Tried that, still no luck.

One day EA will make a game that works, but we'll all be long dead by then

Thanks Jenky for your help... as you can gather ,second son- Dafuzza is getting really uptight about this, he spent his birthday money on a game that he can't play. I am no help at all as completely non techie. I gather EA games have a reputation?

I am a Battlefield addict and have been since the Xbox days and you are right EA Servers are pants and i regualry get disconnected for no reason and its normally when i am having a blinder and have scored the most! If it only happens on this game then you can assume it is the game rather than your set up. EA have supposedly been trying to fix this for what seems like an eternity but i dont think they have done a thing to be honest? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
