Get some proper advice on starting your own business( the inland revenue can help answer all your questions on there website) If its going to be your main income then you need to work out if the product your selling is wanted and needed in the area you live unless your selling online too. Have a look at www.ccsaonline.com which is the association supporting hundreds of ceramic studios, mainly in USA, but increasingly in UK. You could try asking an existing studio owner, provided they are far enough away from where you plan to open. Most studio owners are helpful and willing to share information.
