Not long ago responses to a question about Heather and her accusations of doemstic violence were scathing of Heather. the general opinion was that he had a fabulous marriage to Linda. The Mail on Sunday has an exclusive that shows otherwise. Are those abers willing to acknowledge that their unquestioning loyalty to Sir Paul and that 'he can do no wrong' trust was slightly misplaced?

Its a possibility, i'm just waiting for the case to go to court. But no-one really knows what goes on behind closed doors.

read the article here. There is a longer fuller article somewhere. If the tapes are true and Linda Mcacretney truely was unhappy and wanted to leave Paul then her memory could be better served by people of her village if they gave some thought to her feelings and not just blindly follow the herd that thinks that Paul can do no wrong because he was a beatle.

hi IAP. I'm not in any camp on this, certainly not a Paul McCartney hater or a Heather mills hater either, but I will say that NO-ONE, not anyone at all, knows what occurs within a marriage. You can't possibly know and niether can your friends whether or not Linda and Paul were happy or not. She's dead so it won't matter a toss to her one way or the other, so why bother? If it was an idyllic marriage then the two people that really matter know, and if it wasn't then it matters not anyway.
I have no interest in either of them really and haven't kept abreast of the story to be honest, but this is just common sense surely?
Most couples in a happy marriage of so many years have black moments and mumble and moan about their partners. I do, but it's quite a happy marriage in reality. Some of my friends could certainly say I was unhappy after I'd been going on, but this isn't so, my point being that even if Linda did make these tapes, it doesn't prove that Paul mistreated her.

Hi IAP will email you soon xx
I agree with IAP, nox & net.

The fact that Paul & Linda had bad moments goes without saying ~ what marriage doesn't? as far as I am aware, the tapes allegedly show Linda in a 'down' moment & having a bit of a whinge about her old man...again, I will ask who doesn't do that from time to time?

I don't think Paul or Linda were saints..and Heather Mills isn't either. I won't give my opinion on the second Mrs McCartney as I don't wish to be sued ;o)
Ditto IAP & Neti.

My Mum & Dad were married for trillions of years & had their ups & downs, the same as we & most others do.

If Linda had have been that unhappy in her marriage to Paul, I'm sure she would have upped sticks & left him!

After all, she was self sufficient by running her own photography & veggie business!

I truly believe they loved each other & their family, but we'll see what the tapes reveal - if at all.
matt - i think the issue with this is not that paul can do not wrong, more that not one believes heather.

people know of her past and believe her to be a lying, money grabbing, fantasist - and thats why people are against her - not because they think paul is an angel.

it is a case of an untrustworthy source for these allegations rather than godlike beatledom.

the linda stuff is a whole different story
