About three years ago I began to develope plantars warts, and I ignored them, because my doctor said not to worry about them unless they bothered me, which they didn't. About two years ago the warts had turned into, I think, 15 warts on both feet and I decided to get them removed. They all went away except one which would not go away. Every time I went back my dermatologist would scrape away at the already sensitive wart with a metal file, oftern making it bleed. Then she would freeze it. It was, without a doubt, the most painful experiance of my entire life. Finally, about a year and a half ago, my dermatologist decided she was going to go really hard on the wart. She scraped away more then usual and froze it with liquid nitrogen for about double the time she normally did. It was painful, but not more than usual. Normally, I went back to school and just avoided stepping on the very painful area, but this time it was excruciating even to step on the toe. It turns out that I had a blood blister that was about 15 mm tall. I have never been in that much pain before. My doctor ended up draining it, which made it alot better, but I was in consistant pain for about 4 weeks after and couldnt walk fully on my foot. Its been a year and a half. I sometimes have pain in the where the wart/blister was. I cannot stand to have anyone touch my foot, even though it no longer hurts. Its like this fear that if anyone comes near my foot they will hurt it, like when I was getting the wart treated. I also have these things which Im not really sure what you would call, where my mind becomes so fixated on holding my foot and making sure that its ok, and that NOTHING will touch it. Sorry, this was kind of long, but does anyone have any idea what this might be and/or how to deal with it?

It sounds like you just had a really horrible experience regarding your feet. Dermatologists can be basically butchers sometimes. I remember when I had a verucca aged 14 and the chiropodist basically cut a huge hole in my foot. I STILL have a mark there. I had to go back week after week too.
I would try to put the whole episode behind you. If you want some counselling, try going to a homeopath, who will treat you for your nerves as well as for the wart. A homeopath will listen to you and take you seriously, unlike a GP who will look at the RESULT and not consider the cause- just send you off to a butcher! Good luck.
