Are there any chillies that burn going into you but not going out? I love chillies, but the agony of the toilet following it is BLINDING! Also, can you ACTUALLY damage yourself by eating too much spicy food as my mum keeps telling me? Chilli powder or sauce has been going into all my food, and all of my sandwiches have a chilli chopped into it. I love them but I don't want to ruin my stomach and bottom.

nope sorry. It's like asking to get drunk without the hangover. As a fellow chilli lover i can only say just get used to it :-)
Chilies are actually good for you. They benefit both the blood and the blood vessels, and have loads of vitamin C and carotenoids, such as Lycopene -which are antioxidants. Having said that, and having grown up in a mexican neighborhood, I feel ya on the pain. I can only say that I've taken to cutting my chilies more finely, mixing them more into the food [theory being that the nearby foods protect alimentary membranes from direct contact-sorry if too graffic] And, although I hate to say it, reducing the amount I eat of the really hot chilies in one sitting. Oh, and chilies are addictive. Should be on the internet somewhere. Another idea: An Indonesian chili sauce called Sriracha [has a rooster on the bottle] is very full-flavored because of garlic, and although not terribly hot, can be a delicious, painless alternative. Okay, and I'm just telling it like it is, flashpig -the alternative mentioned above makes going to work or riding public transportation much easier -if you know what I mean. Aloha
