vauxhall vectra key fob reprogramming

anyone know how to reprograme a vectra key fob? the key fob battery is ok as little red light flashes when pressed to open or close but locks stay shut. or is this a vauxhall main dealer job(�80 for 5 mins work)

I think I have answered this somewhere else on here.

If all Vauxhalls use the same system then its a matter of putting the key in the ignition, turning it to engage i.e. lights on dash, pressing the locking button on the fob and then the unlocking and then starting the engine. This should synchronise the key.

If this doesnt work, let me know and I shall contact my local Vauxhall dealer who told me over the phone what to do!!!

If it does work, then ring the dealer up and tell him he is a con artist!

Not sure, but I think places like Timpsons can do them too. They certainly offered on my VW one. Whether they send them off to the dealers though I don't know.
