Does anyone know if there is a term for a word that is written in the style of its meaning - eg "ice" written in jagged white writing, or "spooky" written with spidery writing etc. Sort of like visual onomatopoeia!

How about "concrete typography"? In terms of literature, a poem written in a particular shape is called concrete poetry, shape poetry, pattern poetry or visual poetry.
For example, there is one called - if memory serves me well - A Mouse's Tale and it is written in such a way that the lines/words make the shape of a mouse's tail.
I think any of the suggested words above would describe the printing style you refer to.
