There are allowances for foster parents in some circumstances. She should enquire further about this because Social Services should have assessed her as being a suitable person to look after the children. They should explain the situation to her. If the social worker is not doing this, she needs to take it up at a more senior level in the Soc. Services Dept.

If she doesn't get a foster allowance she should probably be able to claim child benefit.

thanks themas i think she is entitled to child benefit but only after shes had them 8weeks but that advice is really helpful
Hi nanagedon,
you should be entiteled to the childrens family allowance, as my brother-in law has just got his children throgh social sevices
A friend of mine has recently fostered her grandchildren. I dont know why the mother is unable to look after them.
She was already a foster carer but by fostering her grandchildren she is paid a far better sum (300+ per week per child I believe)
