I really feel for you, my nephew had ADHD, he was diagnosed with it when he was 4 years old, not a happy story to tell you though, my sister in law never got much help, but i think there is more help out there now through your doctor or health visitor and the school can be of help too, they would be able to give you good advice and tips.

i use 2 think oh just a naughty child till i spoke 2 the adhd doctor about it .it does exist in like the 1920 it would of been called something diff .children would off been in a mental home , smacking a child with adhd would not help .its due 2 a inbalance of some chemicals in the brain. i use 2 think my god im a bad parent .but thats not true its not the resuilt of bad parenting i also have a son of 15 he is no problem at all THANK GOD or i would of been in a nut home lol .my son with adhd was really bad from age of 2 but thought he would get better as he got older .school did not help on bit .untill he went 2 a new school last year they help me with forms and stuff he was only diagnosed this feb .i wish so so much i had had had him diagnosed years a go .as its been hell .school more help now and help groups so fingers cross
It is a shame you had to wait so long for help, and I wish you and your son the best of luck xx

thank u so much x
Whilst I agree that ADHD appears to be a 'popular' diagnosis today and therefor can be argued against it's existance, I work in a tuition centre for young people who can not cope with mainstream schooling and am seeing a vast increase in numbers of ADHD diganosis. My personal view is to question the diet we have today... to many artificial aditives. I'm not saying it is a definitive answer but has to be worth a thought. Fish oils are also a popularly believed in remedy too.
Good luck.
