-Compatible with a laptop (Dell Inspiron 1300).
-As close to studio quality as possible.
-As cheap as possible (although, yes, it'll probably still cost a lot; I've saved in anticipation anyway).

How about the Samson C01U USB condenser mic? A bit of searching brings it up at �50 to �60.
